Belbin on the Water

Sailing a yacht is one of the best events to choose as a backdrop to a team building day based around the Belbin analysis of work styles. There are roles for all members of the team and those roles interact in one exhilarating task: you have to sail a boat.

Rather than being a way of profiling personality Belbin analyses the way in which people work. It is a really good way of examining whether people are a ‘good fit’ for their role in the team and also look at the balance of the team itself.

Do you have people who are good at starting things but not so good at finishing? Do you lack people who like to go outside of the team to meet new contacts and get answers from the outside? These are just some of the many questions you can address using Belbin.

All programmes are designed to suit your team, but typically you would spend a day learning about Belbin and then a day out at sea enjoying an event but also seeing the principles in action. Our role is to make the learning fun and not detract from the activity buy making it too dry. It’s our experience in this area that will make this work.

We can restrict the event down to a day, so we condense the theory to a morning where you will get an overview understanding of the principles and then an afternoon of sailing.

We can visit you with our Belbin certified training manager to give you an overview of this event. This really is the zenith of corporate team building; an event where you will have a memorable and thoroughly enjoyable time as a team whilst learning about something that you can take back to work and use immediately.
